My Last Postie

Mrrrr, I love you Omm and Boo with the Big Love. Thanks.

And you human people, nice knowing you. Take better care of each other. Take care of a cat or, if you are allergic, help a cat. Be nice to all animals, respect them. Stop killing so much stuff directly and indirectly. Hug a tree, climb a mountain, walk in a brook (be careful not to squish anyone). These are my last wishes.

I am a Wisconsin Snowcat. I adopted my folks at the SPCA in Baraboo, WI. My cat pal Luna and my
dog Midnight were adopted at the North Country SPCA. Supporting your local shelter in any way you can is a good thing.

Luna and Midnight will remember my story and pass it on to other cats just as I passed on the story of the cat that came before me.

The moon visited me and told me it’s name. I gotta go see Alex. She’s got Mizzipisheu and Morris, Naseka and Julie.

Mrrrrr. Goodbye.

Diesel the Cat passed away Monday night, 11 December, 2017 at 9:30pm surrounded by his family. He touched the lives of many people with his furry presence and through this blog. He is irreplaceable. We love him so and will remember his spirit and his life. He loved people in a way that seemed exceptional. He was afraid of nothing. Every cat deserves to reach their potential. Diesel would hope that you will help at least one cat do that.
As he would say, be kind to each other and share your kibble.

The Meaning of Sadness

Alex was my friend, my partner in crime - we occupied the kitchen table, roughhoused, ran and played
together. I loved her with the Big Love and I miss her awfully bad. We were together for 7 years.

I said goodbye to her, but I thought she was just going to the vet for surgery. She was, but it was worse than they thought (the big C) and though she made it through the stabby stuff, she couldn't stay. She died the night after...quietly they say.

My people have been lost and I have not been able to help them much. It is hard. They brought her furry part back from the vet and showed me so I would understand. I sniffed...she was once there but wasn't anymore.

I am sad. This is what sad is. Sad makes it hard to eat and play.

But I see her everywhere. And I will remember her. And her smelly stuff is everywhere to remind me.

Jamming

Mrrrrrr Friends,

I've been playing in the snow and going to the Jams, so haven't been blogging much.

I'll be doing or thinking something outrageously cool and say to myself "I should blog this", and then something else outrageously cool comes up and I don't. Blog that is.

Your loss.

But if you are local, you could just be hanging with me at the Recovery Lounge listening to January Jams.

Dooods, January Jams? You don't know? The very cool Upper Jay Arts Center every January Sunday from 2 to 6? You could be hanging with me and listening to all the cool people playing guitars and drums and singing. I love listening to the music (I had to learn to appreciate the drums but my Unkle Scott who is a monster drummer helped me with that) and folks come by to meet me and kids like to scritch my head.  I lounge with my folks on the couch with Ant Bobbi, aka Santa Bobbi.

Oh, and I hit the print media. You know I've been on NPR and of course I am a furry presence here on the web but I haven't really cracked the print media until now:

The cat is Jamming. That's the front page above the fold, left column...and the first words are "Diesel T HeCat..." The journalist dude was pretty nice. Oom told him a little about me. I didn't think he'd write me up! We'll forgive him using the "O" word.

I know you can't read that thing above so here's the story in three pieces...you can figure this out.

Dooods, now you gotta go back up and catch the last column under the picture of Chris and his guitar...then come back down here.

Snow!

Mrrrr Friends,

As I predicted, we got a nice layer of snow after our return from The Big City!

Here's what I saw on my morning walk.

That's my brook with all those nice tall snow hats.

Then, looking back at our house.

And it snowed big up at the Pony's place too.

He says he could live without it.

Me, I'm loving it. Though the temps are awfully cold and my paws are not yet acclimated? Still nobody makes cat mukluks?

Snow party!

The Plan 23.12.12

Over the Ausable River....

And thru the woods

To Granma's house we go

The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh

Through the white and drifted snow!

Over the river and through the woods to Granma's house we all go

With kibble for all, we'll have quite a ball, and be back in Upper Jay for more snow!

Happy Holidays and continuing Cat-Solstice to all my friends and readers. Mrrrrrrrwwww!

Snow!

Mrrrr Friends,

The photo says it all.

It's a start right? Over by the Placid Lake they have lots more snow but they are about 700' higher than us here in the Adirondack Banana Belt. 50' can make a big difference out here.

My brook looks nice in the frosty layer, yes?

The cat's paws need to acclimate but already the wide toe-stance of the Wisconsin Snowcat breed is evident in the twacks.

You better finish up getting your cat toys for your favorite feline friends today...remember, biscotti are kibble!
